I live in Illinois & there have been many, many cases of attempted child abductions in our area. Thankfully no one has been seriously hurt. Heres the latest one that happened not even a block from my home.
MORRIS -- Police received a report that a 7-year-old female had been battered in the area of Washington and Fulton streets Thursday night.
Police are investigating the incident. The suspect is a white male with blonde hair and some facial hair. The man reportedly grabbed the girl by the arm attempting to pull her away from the area.
"This is an isolated incident," said interim Police Chief Harvey VanCleave. He said there have been no other reports in the area.

People are crazy lately. We've had this going on lately in broad daylight near where I live. There are a lot of kids near me and I'll sit out on the porch in the evening and just watch what goes on. It never hurts to have an extra set of eyes.
BTW welcome aboard.

My children were walking home from the bus stop yesterday afternoon, Two teenagers yelled at my boys to come over to their car, my boys took off running, We alerted the police and the school system in our area and they seem not to take it seriously. This is not the first time something like this has happened in our neighborhood. Should we take it seriously or wait for something bad to happen. I am in a state of shock to think that just because they did not grab my children that we are not being taken serious. What do we do?
